A Hindustani classical vocalist whose training began at the age of ten and has since carried him from the guru shishya parampara to festival stages in India and concert halls in North America.

Aniruddh Aithal began learning Hindustani classical music at the age of ten. Early exposure to the music around him became a formal discipline, pursued in the guru shishya parampara, the teacher to student lineage through which this tradition has always been carried.

He trained under Smt. Geetha Garud Prithviraj and under Dr. Ashok Huggannavar. Their teaching shaped both his technical foundation and his sense of what a raga asks for in performance.

Recognition followed. In 2017 he won a national competition conducted by All India Radio. In 2023 All India Radio conferred its ‘A’ Grade on him, the highest broadcast grading the institution awards. In September 2024 he received the Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna Dr. M S Subbulakshmi Fellowship. In 2025 he was awarded the Sur Jyotsna Award.

He has performed at the Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav at Kundgol in 2018 and at Pune in 2025. In the summer of 2025 he toured the United States and Canada.

Alongside the Hindustani classical canon, he performs Rangageethes, Dasarapadas, Vachanas and Natyageethe, forms that are seldom heard on the concert platform today.

His training has been supported by scholarships from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training and from the Karnataka Sangeetha Nruthya Academy.
