Press biography
Aniruddh Aithal is a Hindustani classical vocalist and an All India Radio ‘A’ Grade artist. He began learning music at the age of ten and trained in the guru shishya parampara under Smt. Geetha Garud Prithviraj and Dr. Ashok Huggannavar.
His singing is recognised for an exceptionally sweet voice, technical precision and aesthetically sensitive presentation. Alongside the Hindustani classical canon he performs Rangageethes, Dasarapadas, Vachanas and Natyageethe, devotional and theatrical song forms that are seldom heard on the concert platform today.
He won a national competition conducted by All India Radio in 2017. In 2023 All India Radio conferred its ‘A’ Grade on him, the highest broadcast grading the institution awards. In September 2024 he received the Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna Dr. M S Subbulakshmi Fellowship. In 2025 he was awarded the Sur Jyotsna Award.
He has performed at the Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav at Kundgol in 2018 and at Pune in 2025. In the summer of 2025 he toured the United States and Canada. His training has been supported by scholarships from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training and from the Karnataka Sangeetha Nruthya Academy.
